About the role

We are looking for a community manager to drive end-to-end community management in Neol’s Talent Network and the Connected Learning Programs.

Neol Community is a curated group of creative minds ready to create positive change. We activate around important issues, empower all involved to co-create solutions, and champion their impact to inspire others.

Community members are onboarded to our community in two ways: Talent Network applications and the connected learning programs. 

Our connected learning programs are one of our central community-building tools to bring together curated groups of individuals in online cohorts and make them learn, connect and prototype together for impact-oriented challenges. (See Neol’s upcoming Connected Learning Program: Future Shapers in South East Asia.) We curate sub-communities for each learning program and let program participants continue their community journeys in our larger community.

This role will be positioned as part of our Community & Learning team and collaborate with Experience & Operations, Marketing, and Product team members.

Ideal candidate
  • At least 3years of solid experience in online community management, building, managing, and scaling community programs.
  • Superior people relationship skills with the ability to interact successfully across backgrounds & cultures. 
  • An extensive working knowledge of online community management and engagement tracking tools. (i.e., Slack, Discord, Orbit)
  • Strong interest in web3, blockchain, and DAOs with previous private and/or professional experience in this space.
  • Excellence in storytelling & content writing skills.
  • Organized, detailed oriented, meticulous.
  • Strong appetite for learning and open to learning from experimentation.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Comfort with working across multiple time zones with team members across the globe.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product Management, Customer Success) to plan and execute community activities. 
  • Continuous contribution to the team’s “safe space” and collaborative spirit.
  • Embracing conflict, expecting backlash and being open to dialogue when receiving it. 

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding process for curated members and ensure their continued success throughout their community experience (both in talent network and connected learning programs).
  • Constantly experiment with new ways to cultivate a sense of trust, care, well-being, inclusiveness, and belonging in the community. 
  • Be the first point of contact for members’ needs. Respond to technical and non-technical inquiries; handle all kinds of coordination & dot connections among the members throughout members’ journey. 
  • Define the potential touchpoints for each member to continue engaging with the Neol community, constantly searching for meaningful connections among the members and matchmaking them depending on their passions, fields of work, and interests.
  • Plan & coordinate the community events & rituals from conception to completion and maintain a vibrant community culture. With the community’s interest in mind, evaluate the return on investment.
  • Publish all announcements/reminders/feedback forms in the relevant community channels.
  • Solicit feedback from community interactions, synthesize insights and analyze data metrics to best represent the voice of our community to the internal team; provide feedback to all stakeholders, share trends, surface pain points, sentiments, and guidance on ways to engage with the community.
Systems & Operations
  • Embrace web3 thinking and apply it to all steps in a community member’s journey 
  • Ensure our badge & level systems serve the community in the best way possible. Develop and constantly iterate on the incentivization structures to reward community participation.
  • Track community engagement and interactions with the predefined measurement structure infrastructures.
  • Support the Operation Team in setting up all the community infrastructures. (Digital channels, decks, pages, calendar integrations) and making sure all the integrations are processed between different platforms fluently.
  • Help out with all the technical setups during community events.

Location

We are a remote-first team. Currently, we have two main hubs: London and Istanbul, but we have distributed team members from GMT- 8 to GMT +5 timezones. For this role, we prioritize candidates that are located in Europe, between GMT+1 and GMT+3 time zones.

Start Date

We expect the candidate to be able to start working full-time as of January 2023.
